Dr. Brace
Brainstorm: Links

General sites

This is one film to which the DVD release has made an absolutely essential difference. In the original film, the virtual reality sequences were shot in 70mm with surround sound. The 'real life' sequences were shot in 35 mm without the notched up sound. This difference was completely wiped on the video and is on the DVD restored to its original form. This would have been a magnificent film to see on the big screen, with the impressive opening credits and the atmospheric music. Seeing a nice clear picture as opposed to the somewhat fuzzy VHS is also a revelation. This is a whole new film on DVD as opposed to the VHS version.
